about
ES Folk LLC covers local politics in Eureka Springs, AR. Our point of view is progressive. Our goal is to report on political processes as they move toward an integrated whole, specifically as we consider the environmental, economic, political, health and safety, and social and cultural aspects, of the City.
As we told the Southern Poverty Law Center, we specialize in muckraking and the arts. We take our inspiration from TPMuckraker who says, “They’ve got the muck. We’ve got the rakes.”
We are watch dog, too, watching out for the untruths so popular in contemporary political discourse.
Some days, when the happenings of our small town have overtaken common sense, it is hard to write things up with a straight face. We put those articles under Spoof; and sometimes, when the article is about some nonsense someone is trying to pull over on us, Flimflammery.
To make it absolutely clear when we are spoofing (and sometimes intending to parody or otherwise satirize), we will include our Spoof Bird, like one of those little fellas you’ll sometimes see at the bottom of cartoons commenting on the cartoon itself.

Here I ‘ll be, over here on the right to make really, really, sure you know there’s spoofing going on.
Mako is our watchdog and mascot.
He has a rich heritage out of the Chihuahua and Boston Terrier lines. Weighing in at 18 pounds, size is nevertheless of no consequence to him. He thinks it good sport to run down others much bigger than he, like Goldens, Bassetts, and a VERY Large One of Undetermined Heritage, white, the Professor Moriarty of our town. With finely-tuned ears, he hears well, too, around every corner, misses almost nothing.
Those are just the watchdog qualities we admire for our newspaper here at ES Folk.

All I have to do is post - so post it is.
Bravo for Mako - he is a inspiration and a
challenge.
I will keep perusing your efforts to keep
up to all sides of the issues developing in
ES.
You GO, grrrl! I’m proud of you.
Cass (formerly of ES and Milwaukee)
I have just today encountered your infosite and have posted a link from http://Ureeka.Org
You’re posted here, too, Dan. Thanks.
Best,
Barbara
Ok, Barb.. the comments throughout the site seem just mean and childish. Can’t you moderate them? I know the dreadful word of censorship, but this isn’t supposed to be so mean is it? I just hat the rudeness… not by you… people just get online and think they can say anything they want. They think that people don’t have feelings and it is just sad. Sorry your site has gone that way.
Yup, there is no need to have this stay on. Whoosh! Gone.
All comments will be moderated in the future. Comments must be appropriate to the issue being discussed.
Good for you Barb.
