Additional Info on Water Line Increase

ES Folk has just received additional information on water/sewer rate increases from a source who has given us links to newspaper articles on same. Our source says:

“City Council increased water rates a whopping 30 percent in late 2002 for 2003 and built in at the time automatic annual increases so there would never be a large increase again (they had gone years without an increase). In Feb. 2004 the automatic increase was waived ‘one time only’ because people were still hurting from the effects of the 30 percent hike.”

“From what I’m reading,” our source says, “there have not been increases since that time. The current situation seems like a deja vu. Who dropped the ball?”
