After a Raucus Council Meeting She Couldn’t Control, Mayor Forced to Drastic Action
Eureka Springs Mayor Dani Joyce today announced she is canceling the days Council meets. Yes, that’s right– the very days themselves. “I am abolishing second and fourth Mondays,” she said, adding that “Gregorian [sic] had nothing on me.”
“These days have become cumbersome,” she said. “I prefer to work quietly behind the scenes.”
Joy was forced to take the action after a raucous Council meeting where people other than her supporters entered into a general fray.
Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeff Feldman praised the Mayor’s action. He noted the downturn in tourism caused by this person and that, and promised his full cooperation in keeping City business out of the eyes of the public.
Eureka Springs Building Inspector Marion Chrysler, who had previously testified before Council on the misbehavior of Council in criticizing her Mayor, said she breathed a sigh of relief at the news.
The local media, who work hand in glove with the Mayor, were pleased to see that they would no longer have to reconcile fact with fiction in putting a happy face on a divided City, according to sources close to the top.

Such a day today was!
