We asked Mayor Joy if she had a response to the vandalism recently experienced by David “Fuzzy” White, owner of a taxi-limo service whose right to a franchise is being challenged in a referendum.

The mood is ugly, the civility factor at its lowest ebb. It is an increasingly hateful world that has been manifesting in the taxi-limo wars.
That was made clear in the vandalism perpetrated against David “Fuzzy” White.

CAPC Tax Collections Up

According to CAPC Director of Operations Sheila Hulsey, revenue brought in through the CAPC tax on lodgings and restaurants brought in more tax dollars than were collected in 2006.
Collections totaled $104K plus, representing a 2.3% increase over September 2006, Hulsey said.
